The Opportunity
As a Delivery Customer Service Driver, successful candidates will be responsible for collecting and delivering industrial garments, linen and laundry products to customers throughout the Waikato and Bay of Plenty region.
The role is designed around local runs, meaning drivers will return home each day with no overnight stays. Drivers will operate late-model vehicles and visit customer premises 3 to 4 days per week.
On the remaining days, employees will work at the factory and assist with other operational activities. There may also be opportunities to learn additional delivery runs depending on business requirements and individual suitability.
Key Responsibilities
The main duties of the position include:
- Pick up laundry bags, linen and workwear from customer premises
- Deliver clean industrial garments and linen to customers
- Load and unload laundry bags and cages
- Handle physically demanding loads safely
- Drive late-model company vehicles
- Complete customer pickups and deliveries 3 to 4 days per week
- Work in the factory 1 to 2 days per week
- Keep the assigned vehicle clean and tidy inside and out
- Complete weekly transport maintenance checks
- Provide friendly and professional customer service
- Follow safe driving and transport procedures
- Learn additional delivery runs when required
Driving Experience and Requirements
Applicants must possess a clean driver’s licence. A Class 2 driver’s licence is preferred but not essential.
Previous delivery or driving experience can be beneficial, but the employer is also willing to provide full training to the successful candidates.
Drivers should be comfortable operating company vehicles and travelling throughout the Waikato and Bay of Plenty areas while maintaining a professional approach when dealing with customers.
Qualifications and Work Requirements
The position requires employees to work five days per week as part of a permanent, full-time arrangement.
Candidates must be physically fit because the role involves removing full laundry bags containing linen and workwear, as well as moving cages at customer premises. Some heavy lifting is involved.
