Key Responsibilities
Your duties may include:
- Obtaining special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes.
- Inspecting the overall condition of the vehicle before, during and after trips.
- Checking tires, lights, brakes, cold storage systems and other vehicle equipment.
- Performing brake adjustments when required.
- Carrying out emergency roadside repairs.
- Completing pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspections.
- Overseeing all aspects of the vehicle during transportation.
- Recording cargo information and maintaining accurate transportation records.
- Recording hours of service and distance travelled.
- Monitoring and recording fuel consumption.
- Tarping cargo and ensuring it is properly secured.
- Maintaining the safety and security of transported cargo.
- Following applicable transportation and road safety requirements.
- Maintaining accurate driver logbook records.
- Completing duties required for long-distance and international cargo transportation.

Requirements
Candidates should have:
- A secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- A valid Class 1 or Class A driver’s licence.
- An Air Brake (Z) Endorsement.
- No previous experience is required, as training will be provided.
- English language skills.
- Knowledge of driver logbook requirements.
- Ability to complete pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspections.
- Ability to safely operate and maintain a long-haul truck.
- Ability to inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment.
- Ability to perform brake adjustments and emergency roadside repairs.
- Ability to properly secure and tarp cargo.
- Ability to maintain accurate records of cargo, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
- Ability to obtain required permits and transportation documents.
