Physiotherapists needed in Canada

Grande Prairie Physiotherapy & Massage is hiring physiotherapists to join its team in Grande Prairie, Alberta. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity for a qualified physiotherapist who can assess patients, develop personalized physiotherapy programs and provide professional rehabilitation services in a private practice setting.

The position is based on site at the clinic, with work starting as soon as possible. The successful candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy or physiotherapy and must meet the required provincial licensing and professional registration requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties may include:

  • Administering evaluative tests and procedures to assess patients.
  • Examining patients and assessing their physical abilities.
  • Making professional decisions regarding appropriate tests and treatment procedures.
  • Developing and planning individualized physiotherapy programs.
  • Selecting appropriate exercises, equipment, apparatus and manual techniques.
  • Teaching and supervising patients while they perform prescribed exercises.
  • Providing physiotherapy treatments based on individual patient needs.
  • Maintaining accurate clinical records and progress reports.
  • Monitoring patients’ progress throughout their treatment programs.
  • Consulting and communicating with other health professionals when required.
  • Supervising technical and support staff.
  • Conducting research related to physiotherapy when required.
  • Providing professional guidance and support to patients throughout their rehabilitation.
  • Following professional, workplace health and safety standards.
  • Maintaining a client-focused and professional approach in all interactions.

Requirements

Candidates should have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in physical therapy, physiotherapy or a related program.
  • Experience in physiotherapy is considered an asset.
  • Successful completion of the Alliance of Physiotherapy Regulatory Boards Examination.
  • Licensure by the appropriate provincial or territorial authority.
  • Eligibility for professional liability insurance.
  • Strong knowledge of physiotherapy assessment and treatment techniques.
  • Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong client-focused approach and professional judgment.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • The ability to work under pressure.
  • The physical ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods.
  • The ability to bend, crouch and kneel when required.
  • The ability to perform repetitive tasks and physically demanding duties.
  • Punctuality, reliability and professional judgment.
  • English language skills.
  • The ability to work effectively with patients, colleagues and other health professionals.

A criminal record check is required, and candidates must be eligible for professional liability insurance. This is an on-site position, and there is no option to work remotely.

The employer is willing to consider candidates who are prepared to relocate to Grande Prairie. Relocation costs are not covered by the employer.
